Welcome to Mother and Daughters Quilt Ministry

Several years ago the daughters of Marian Griffin decided to organize a quilting plan to help be sure all the children and grandchildren would have a homemade quilt from "Mom" or "Grandma."  As the grandchildren got married, we all worked putting together wedding quilts for each couple.  Then, as our Mom got older, we decided not to wait until the grandchildren got married to be sure they had a "grandma quilt."  So we started working with Mom to create quilts for all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  What we thought would take several years, was completed in less than year.  Now, what would we do with the quilt tops being produced?  So the idea of a quilt ministry was born.  Our mom, Marian Griffin, will be 87 years old and sewing is what she does.  With the help of her daughters, her daughter-in-law, her son, and several grandchildren, she gets up, pins and sews nine-patch quilt blocks each day.  These blocks are then taken, squared, and put together into quilt tops.  The finished quilts are given away.  This blog will feature different organizations and individuals who have received quilts sewn by our mom.  When possible, we will post photos along with the blogs.
Some recently finished quilts and quilt tops.
